I hear very good things about them and my Slim needs new rubber. Nothing wrong with the stock Dunlops. But wonder if other tires have more to offer.

Are the Commander IIs all that? People say you can actually feel the difference in corners, in road grooves and in the rain.

The stock Dunlop on the rear made it 5700 miles then was replaced with a Michellin CII. I've put 9K on it so far but it's getting close to the wear bars. I have noticed it's a tad slicker than the Dunlop though. It's easier to spin on small patches of sand when accelerating. The front OE Dunlop still has lots of tread left on it. The rear is a 240/40 18.

Got them on two of my bikes. Much better than stock. Lots more miles too.

2007 Street Bob. I just started riding on them 3,000 miles ago. I have been running Metzler 880's for about the last 10 years. I ride on a lot of twisties and mountain roads. The Michelins seem to be a fair amount less connected to the road than the Metzlers were. Less confidence inspiring than the Metzlers were. I ride about 10k per year, and get new tires once a year. Next year I'm switching back to the 880's.

A buddy of mine has a Softail Standard and recently switched to the Commander II's also. He has had the same experience with them as me.

We both have the skinny 21" front wheels and tires. Your experience with the fat front tire on the Slim may be different than mine. Who knows? In any case, I've heard people talking about the "unstable" 21" front wheel before. I never knew what they were talking about when I ran the 880's. Now I know.

Bottom line: I won't use them again.

Interesting in that most folks seem to say they are more sticky than the Dunlops. Hmm.

Keep the opinions coming. I'm not wedded to any brand.

They may very well be stickier than the stock Dunlops. I've just gone through three sets of 880's since I had the stock tires on there, so it's hard for me to make a direct comparison from the C-II's to the Dunlops. It's just been too many miles ago to remember how the Dunlops felt, so I can only compare the C-II's to the 880's.

As always, YMMV. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I put one on the front a few months ago, feels a little more cushiony but it is 90/90 rather than an 80/90 so that may be why. Feels a little more stable that the Dunlop but not hugely so. Too new to make a mileage judgment.

Replaced my Dunlop's with Commander 2's 2k miles ago. Noticed right away that the C2's rode smoother on the fwy, at high speeds and made my 03 handle a lil better too. And they look much nicer imo.

Yeah I too just made the switch and I love the ride, the handling and the cost. You cannot go wrong with the mc2
