Default Metzeler!

I put a set of 880s on my Heritage. I wanted 888s but the WWWs were not out yet. DRAMATIC improvement over the Dunlops. The bike seems much more linear and stable and the back doesnt seem to skip and slide like it used to. Ride is better too..

My last bike I had Avons, I didnt like them at all especially in cooler or damp weather

Michelin Commander 2's on my Ultra. Love them so far with about 3500 miles.

I would have to second the Michelin Commander II, that's what I just put on my heritage and I love the ride, will have to wait on the mileage but so far so good. Good Luck on your decision.

I can't speak to bagger tires but I've been through several tires on my Sporty. I've run the stock Dunlop, Metzler, Shinko, and now Michelin.

I currently have a Michelin Commander II on the rear and a Metzler ME880 on the front (until it wears out). The Commander is easily the best tire I've had on the rear so far. It handles very well, wears nicely, and has good wet traction. My previous Shinko rear was probably the best handling rear tire I've had on the bike but it was toast after about 3k miles.

Until I'm convinced otherwise, I believe the Commander II is the best cruiser tire out there. If I couldn't get them I'd probably try the Metz ME888.

Consider the Pirelli Night Dragon... a great handling / very responsive tire. I've got 5K on my first set, and love 'em. They seem to last as long as any Dunlops I've had.

I ride a 2007 Night Train, with somewhere just south of 30k miles on the odometer. Have been through two sets of stock Dunlops, each set lasted about 10-15k miles or so. Was OK with them, but not happy with the mileage factor until I realized that it is what it is. Purchased a set of Michelin Commander II's and the difference is real. Bike corners like it's on rails. Rain, no problem. Never wanted to tout a set of tires, but if you get the Commander II's you won't be sorry.

Get round ones made out of a rubber compound is my advice. I run Dunlops on my 03 Heritage. Get about 15,000miles on the back 24,000 on the front roughly, safely. Michelins on my 98 Wideglide. So far the Michelins have only 6,000 miles on them. Metzlers never made that on the Wideglide. hate Metzlers. I don't even want someone running Metzlers riding near me.

Have about 350 miles on a new set of Michelin Commander II.
Great handling much better then Dunlops that came with the bike.
Will take time to see how long they last. But with the better handling willing to give up some miles.

I made some local calls to some smaller bike shops and they also said that I should look into the Michelin Commander II's and that they handle very well in all conditions and have a very good mileage rating (long Lasting) So it sounds like that the way to go!
