Has any body else had the inconvenience of getting work done at your harley dealership and when you pick it up your paint is scratched or your chrome is scuffed? i just picked mine up from an oil change and both of these things happened.

I haven't had this problem, but my local dealership takes detailed photos of all bikes going in for service. Probably to protect them more that the customer though.

I took my bike in to replace a tire and they scratched my turn signal chrome somehow. I argued with them for about 15 minutes that it wasn't there before. when i wouldn't back down they relented and replaced the cover for n/c.

My Indy mech is pretty rough on stuff. He knows I'm pretty picky about my bike but I still see some scratches from time to time. I usually don't say crap because he fixes a lot of my stuff with no appointments, even no charge sometimes, drops off my bike, picks me up if necessary, let's me leave my trailer at his shop etc. I'd never let a Dealer get away with half the crap I let my Indy get away with.

One thing I like is you can work on the bike along side a guy who knows what he's doing so you can actually learn something. Dealers won't even let you in the shop in most cases citing Insurance rules.

When you noticed it, did you go back and tell your dealer about it?

At my 1k I added engine guards and the brake/stop/turn module..

When I wipe my bike down a few days after I got her back I had a scratch in my front and rear fender right by the rear brake light (they changed the turn signal lens.

Since then I go over my bike while the ticket writer makes notes whenever anyone does anything to her before and after a service..
Haven't had any issues since then.

..
