Default Insurance and Dealership fighting over bike repairs

i was rear ended 2 weeks ago, and took my bike to the dealer for repairs. and its been a nonstop headache ever since. the insurance company wont send an adjuster out to get an estimate for the bike. they just want the dealership to send them a list of repairs and photos of the damage for evaluation. the dealership claims they "dont have the ability" at this time to take photos and send them in (....they actually tried to tell me no one in their shop is capable of taking a photo and emailing it).

going to speak with the dealerships service manager later today and see if he will get the photos sent in so they can go ahead and start the repairs. if not, i guess ill have to bitch out the insurance company again untill they send a rep out. the whole process is frustrating as hell.

It seems to me that any shop would bend over backwards to get business, especially the type being paid directly from an insurance company. Because they know they can maximize their repairs and profits. If that dealer is unwilling to go the extra yard, then simply take it someplace else. Seems to me like the solution is simple.

This is the way it's done these days and has been for quite some time. Tell the dealership to join the 2000's.

both parties seem to be stupid about it.
take some pics yourself, then send them to the insurance company.
get it done and get back on the road.

Went through the same process about a year ago. Insurance Co. sent an adjuster to the dealer rather promptly. It did take them a few weeks to Ok the repairs that the dealer said needed done. If the fault is not yours and the bike is not drivable ask for a rental even if it is an auto. Hope you were not seriously injured. Good luck, its going to be awhile.

who is the ins co that won't send an appraiser?
I bent a rim on my caddy, and my ins co sent a guy to my house the next day!
He wrote me a check for $800 on the spot!

Both need to be bitched out but especially the insurance company. Part of what you're paying for is prompt action and service. Tell them to get off their a$$ and get it dealt with.

yeah that's bonkers. When my bike got run over, the ins company of the driver who did it was out the next morning, determined the bike to be totaled and I had a check for the first 90% by the next week, and the remainder within 5 days of getting the clean title to them. Similarly before writing the bike off, the dealer just told me that if the insurance company wanted to ship the bike to them that they would take care of everything digitally to make the process easy.

New dealer time if possible
