Tuning
So I am waiting to get my FXSTDi back from the shop. My cam shoes were toast and I swapped it over to the S&S 509 gear drive set up.
I should be getting the bike back from the indy today or Friday, but they cannot tune the bike because the do not have a dyno. So I called my local HD dealer in Cartersville GA, and he proceeded to tell me a tune was cost me about $875 because a Screaming Eagle tuner module that I supposedly need. To me it just smells like bull crap....
I even said well crap I could by a PowerCommander for like $350 and he proceeded to tell me how they are known to cook up Harley ECU's and stuff....Which I've had PCs on 3 different bikes (not Harley's) with no issues.
So how much did you guys pay for tunes to your EFI after upgrades?

I went with the Power Vision for my Slim so that I wouldn't have to take the bike in to a shop every time I make performance changes. While it is a little more than the Power Commander, the ability to flash new maps and make fine tune changes is well worth it. Also, depending on the year of your bike, using the auto-tune feature is great too!

in an 88?
One shop told me that cam would burn the motor up if I didn't remap.
I called the shop doing my work and he said with a PC he could tune it...So i told him to move forward with it....At least with a PC I should be able to download in add new maps if I ever want too....
