First fatality at Sturgis hits home for me..
Just got word that a fatal accident in the Sturgis area involved a man from Pender, NE. this is about 14 miles from my home town and I knew him well. He was an excellent pool player and active with the local fire department. He played a lot of pool in my bar and will be missed by many.

sideswiped by a car and lost control. Always makes me think about crowded places and how I do not like them on my bike, too much going on for all involved.

considering the number of miles ridden to get to sturgis times the number of people that are there, i doubt if the accidents/miles ridden are as high as they are for the general riding public. if sturgis was an amish convention, there would be numerous horses and people killed and maimed. condolences to the family.

Sorry man, that sucks. Sorry for your loss.
Heard from a friend/forum member who's there that he came across a guy who missed the curve. Some injuries but he'll survive. As mentioned, you have a concentration of bikes in any given area there will be crashes. We had our share for the 110th.

Story says he wasn't wearing a helmet. Head-on sideswipe at a curve, unknown which went over the center line. RIP, condolences.
