Default Cost rent motor home for 10 days ??

Thinking about Sturgis 2015 with a group of people, about 7. Only a few will ride bikes.
Just wondering what the cost world be for a motor home rental and trailer for two bikes.
Anyone done this?
SoCal to Sturgis.

With the cost of the motor home and the cost to park it for a week. It would probably be more cost effective to rent a house with 7 people. But if ypu ain't going to ride there may as well just stay home and watch the tv specials. Just my opinion.

8 mpg and 4000 miles round trip! 7 people won't fit in a motorhome. Watch the move "RV" as your training film.

The rentals by El monte RV are (depending on time of year) $90-180 per day. Plus you buy mileage in blocks of 250-500 and for any unused miles you SOL. Plus pay to use the towing hitch as well as the generator!!!!!

Not only will the fuel be expensive, but the mileage charge for the rental will be a bunch.

Another option is to have the non riders go up in a normal vehicle, and rent a motor home when you get to Sturgis.

I did the cruise america thing once, not to sturgis but to another state for top eliminator seats and preferred parking at a national drag race event. Was awesome, would do again. Was pricey though.

You guys are right - a motorhome is way too much.

We did ride there last year, from Southern California. It was a great trip; now that my GF is riding, she doesn't think she's up to that kind of trip (women...).

Heck with it - I'll just go myself!

Your going to a damn bike rally. I'm sure they have a frigging WalMart in SoCal. Take a hundred dollar bill in there. and get some bungee cords or ratchet straps, a small dome tent, a couple of sleeping bags, and a few other things for camping. Then leave the pussies not wanting to ride at home.

add an extra day each way for the GF and make sure she has a comfortable seat and back rest...and a quality helmet. or you can let her fly to denver and you can pick her up on the way and drop her off for the flight back. you should be able to buy a fairly cheap ticket on southwest by watching for sales and booking early.

the wife and i find this very convenient for both of us. i can stay at motel 6 and eat at mcdonalds when riding by my self. if she were along, we would be staying some place nice, and eating quality(costly) meals. the plane ticket is really as cheap as having her along for the trip. we both arrive at the event in a good mood. give it a try.
