Default Barn Find

So, as I noted when I joined the forum, I'm looking to purchase my first HD hopefully with some time left in the season. Of the several I'm viewing this weekend (Dynas), one sat for at least two years in a garage without being started. It's a 2009 fuel injected Superglide. I guess it fired right up when the owner's son attempted to start it a few weeks back. My gut feel is to let this one go however the price is very reasonable, the mileage (as you'd expect) is quite low and it's in immaculate condition. What do you folks think? Back in my paranoid days I've gone so far as to fog cylinders for the winter. God knows what the inside of the fuel tank looks like.

Thanks!!

An 09 is far from what is considered to be a barn find. If the price is right, jump on it. I wouldn't worry about it having sat for two years, change the fluids and check the tires, etc.

If the price is right, what do you have to lose?

To ease your mind, go to Google images and type, "Harley barn find" and peruse the images! You'll feel much better about an 09 in pristine condition having sat idle for a couple of years.

Doing a 10k mile service (even if it doesn't have 10k miles) wouldn't be a bad idea if you feel uncomfortable with it sitting that long.

Back in 2010 I found my bike literally sitting in a barn, covered in dust and cat paw tracks. It's a 2006 and only had 4000 miles on it. Price was right, I jumped on it and never looked back. Go for it if the price is right!

Just so you'll know, a barn find is more like the WL that one of my customers has sitting in his barn still in the original shipping crate that he bought as war surplus after WWII. And for those who are going to ask he won't sell it or any of the other cool stuff he has.

That's more of a cool find than a barn find. I'd buy it and ride it like I stole it!

don't let 2 yrs scare you, bikes can sit for decades and still start right up!
