Help Burnt microfiber cloth on painted exhaust!
Help! I have a 2008 Honda CRF150F dirt bike. Was washing it and turned engine on to evaporate moisture and accidentally brushed up against the hot exhaust pipe with a microfiber cloth and left a pattern of melted cloth on the pipe. It is a flat black pipe, don't know if it is powder coated or painted. Said not to use Easy Off oven cleaner since it will strip the coating. Any other ideas to help get it off? Thanks.

Did you try firing the bike up again and getting the pipe nice and hot and trying a "rag" that won't melt to it? Maybe a piece of leather or even SUPER fine steel wool? The latter might leave mild scratch marks, but better than burnt-on synthetic material?
LOL just realized I missed the part about what bike you're on. How the hell did you decide to post this on a Harley forum?

I would try some leather first if you have any. Rough enough to get at the material but not so rough as to scratch anything
if you do go with steel wool, make sure you get super fine.
Maybe even try steel wool with the pipe cold, that way you can use a little water to prevent scratching even better.
