Default Trying to install adjustable rider backrest

I've got a 2014 Street Glide Special. I'm installing a bunch of stuff, including the rider adjustable backrest. The whole install has gone like butter, except the step where you mount the actuator lever to the frame. What a pain!!! I'm trying to hold the assembly in place while threading the screw into the little slip nut, and the damned bolt just won't thread and engage into the slip nut!! I've got it lined up properly, near as I can tell, but I've spent the last 90 minutes trying to get that diabolical little assembly the attach and it just ain't happening.

Anybody out there installed one of these things before? Have you got any tips for me on how to thread the screw into the little slip nut to mount the actuator lever assembly onto the frame? I'm about ready to try bungee cords!!!

Cheers guys, and thanks for any help I get.

Ross
