Default Looking at a demo Street 750, need your opinions

Hi guys
I am a brand new rider and would like to get a 750 as my first bike. The dealer has a 2015 demo for sale
- less than 2000 KM
- two options have been already installed, the engine guard and passenger seat kit, which are worth CAD$1200 in total.
The sales rep told me a new 750 would be CAD$9300, I was offered to buy this demo bike at this price with the installed two options included
1. Would this be a good/reasonable deal?
2. Should I get the extended warranty?
Many thanks!!

Extended warranty is a ripoff, however the street is a new model so that is not as much in your favor when it comes to the gamble of whether or not something catastrophic happens after the regular warranty is over. I still say don't bother.

Get them to throw in the first service and call it good, assuming that you are ok with spending the 9300.

Unless you plan on riding it in India, I would pass and get a Sporty or Dyna. You will out grow that Street faster than guys out grow their Sporty's

If you're a new rider, the street would be a good bike to learn on. Back in the day I learned on a 250cc bike. Most people did. Better to learn the basics on something small and easy to ride. You can always trade up in a year or two to something bigger.
Yeah, you will lose a few bucks on the trade up but you will develope the skills needed to really be comfortable riding.
Nothing wrong in starting small.

How the hell do yo know he will grow out of it fast? Totally typical answer form 99% of this forum.

The Street would be a good first bike, ignore what the pirates say around here.

Seriously? A VRod is your recommendation for the first time rider? A beginner?

To the OP....the Street is a great bike for beginners, smaller riders, those that live in urban areas.

Check out a lot of different ideas for your "first bike"...and what to get to learn on.

Consider the fact that you may dump it...since you're a beginner. Not saying that as an insult..just as a reality, something that happens more often for beginners. I'm talking dropping the bike, laying it down when moving it out of your garage or parking it or slow maneuvers. That increased risk on a brand new bike you're making payments on is a pisser. So consider getting a used bike....save a few thousand.

Granted...since the Street is fairly new there aren't many used ones for sale yet...but you'll see more and more as time goes on.

Sportsters are traded in frequently, and the used market on them is filled with lots of good deals. They are a tiny bit smaller than a "Big Twin" model...and lighter, yet....slightly more top heavy.

A used Dyna can be found for a good price..plenty of them on the market too.
