How much was your download?
Not including pipes and ac. I just want to know the actual cost of the download itself. I know there are better tuners out there. But I just want a simple download for now. I'm guna be building the motor up this winter and I will then get a legit tuner and dyno time.

 

Do your self a favor and just throw a set xied's on it. There around 100 dollars and will do more good than a EPA approved tune

 

To answer your question, my local HD charges $225 for labor and download.

Mine had the stage 1 download when I got her last year and it worked ok. Had some pop on decal and at certain RPMs but mine has the 103 big bore kit, 255 cams, V&H Big Radius and SE Heavy Breather so I just installed a SEPST and will use one of the canned maps and tweak it from there; hopefully. Let us know what you decide on.

 

Good idea. And then you can sell them when you get your tuner.
Remember, with the download the bike will still be running lean.

 

I thought the download would have been like 150$. I think I'll just go with a fuel moto tuner instead.

 

When I got the stage 1 download on my 12 Limited it was $150 plus tax. But then the dealer charged $75 labor to flash it to the bike. On my 14 Limited I bought the Vance & Hines FP3. You can get one online for $299 with free shipping and no tax. You get a better tune with it that is customizable for your bike and mods and a lot of extra adjustments like throttle progressivity, idle speed, Rev limiter etc. Plus the ability to view data about the engine while you ride.

 

Should run anywhere between $100-$150.

I have a k & n air filter, no other mods. Do I need a tune?

150, there are also Vied's that are adjustable, I bought a set, never even got to open the package, wife bought me a tuner.
The Vieds are adjustable and the XIeds are not
