Default Hyperchargers

ok maybe a dumb question. I have an '08 Cross Bones that I would like to keep a sort of raw old school look but I am considering a Pro-R Hypercharger painted up to match the bike. The part that makes sense to me is the "ram air " type of set up and that it is reaching away from the bike for cooler air as opposed to my stock cover sucking hot air off the engine. painted up it would tend to keep a sort of old world look. my question is do the hyperchargers work well or are they really more focused on look as a dress up piece?

They add un-needed complexity for very little gain, and they break. Much better choices out there.

I agree, never read any positive reviews on them

I am interested in suggestions that can end up in heavy rain and dont screw up the old school look. I have seen some that look ok but the air cleaner is essential exposed to the weather

The hypo charger is just as apt to suck in water as any of them. Ive run my arlen ness big sucker in the rain and the only problem Ive experienced is my boots filling up with water. I just be sure and wrap it in plastic when i suds the bike

An S&S Teardrop aircleaner is about as old school as you can get. It will perform as well as anything out there while providing some protection from the elements.
