Is it something I need to replace?

Pinhole or hole in the inner fuel line. Get out your shop manual and get busy. It's not too difficult of a job on the Twin-cams. Not real sure about your bike though.

Thanks, I have the SM and it looks simple to get the fuel pump swapped out as a whole. If I'm doing this I should do it all. Got lucky and found the whole fuel pump on ebay... perfect!

It's continuing to run because it's unable to pressurize the fuel system.

I agree with your diagnosis, I will follow up with images of the failed hose or other component on the old pump assembly for closure.

All fixed, replaced the pump
