Fuel Sender Assy Replacement

Fuel Sender Assy Replacement
I bought a 2003 Road King Classic - EFI. The fuel is old and the dealer says everything is gunked up, the filters, hoses, fuel pump, fuel injectors. And HD has no fuel sender assemblies to ship, that their back ordered until August. I asked if we could use an aftermarket fuel pump and they said the plastic components of the fuel sender assembly would fall apart when swapping out the fuel pump. I see some fuel pump intank assemblies for sale online, but not for my year. Are they the same for 2002-2007 or specific to the year?

well??? you think the stealer is taking the easy way out??
hoses can be changed as well as filters. fuel inj can be cleaned which leaves the pump.
diagnostics on the pump will tell if it needs replacing such as bad pressure and response.
that said, the do make cleaners that will dissolve residue from left over fuel. the pump can be bathed outside the tank and run to clear it out, all of which you can do.
around here, i think the stealer rate 120 buck/hr so before i would run over there, i would try myself.
once the system to the inj is clean, disable the pump and run inj cleaner from the pressurized can, block of any fuel return lines.
