Key light stays red on "08 Street Glide
Hey All:
Thanks in advance for your help...
I picked up a light weight hammock yesterday for the Hoka Hey motorcycle challenge I will be participating in on August 5, 2011. Indiegogo.com/help-a-brohter-out I spent a few hours last night trying to fashion a light weight pole system to hang off the bike itself to hold my hammock. No success yet. While I was doing so, I put considerable weight on the throttle side hand grip, and the flashers went off. I was done with the attempt at fashioning a rig for the bike hammock and just ignored the flashing security lights as they went off.
I went out this morning to fire up the bike and it sputtered, the Key light lit up and stayed Red and now it won't start, no nothing when I hit the run button, nothing. I see a code U 1064 but it won't clear. I tried disabling the security system but can't pull up the O's on the odometer as instructed to do. Any suggestions? I havent done anything or made any changes to any of the controls and the battery is fine. Help!

Dream
I had the same problem, code U1064 on my 2008 ElectraGlide. Check the ignition fuse. Took me 4 hrs to figure it out. Hopefully you won't have to feel my pain. Seems the fuse can die just from leaving the ignition on but not starting the bike. Rumor I heard on another forum. It was enough for me to check it and sure enough, it was toast.
Good luck

Thanks UC
You got me started in the right direction... Appears I pinched a wire in the Run Switch that was shorting out the Ignition fuse. Reattached the wire and tucked it in, replaced ALL the fuses, and she is good to go. Looks like I may need to buy a battery as well. S'pose its about time, the battery, fuses, and all the lamps have close to 100k on them and have been through all of the Americas... A project for this evening I think.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
