hey, I'm new to the forum and signed up because of this issue i can't figure out with my 77 iron head. Its got an S&S e carb, single fire crane cam hi-4,and a rebuilt motor that ran great up until thanksgiving. The bike got left out in the rain and won't accelerate now. idles fine, carbs tuned up nicely, but when i try and accelerate it acts like its hitting a rev limiter and its starving for fuel. if i snap back the throttle i wants to die.

since, i've completely gone through and cleaned the fuel tank, petcock, and carb. accelerator diaphragm is good and fuel squirts out of the nozzle when i hit throttle. running the bike so I can see into the carb it looks like its getting plenty of fuel.

The plugs look slightly wet, no intake leaks, and when hitting the throttle the headlight does not dim.
if anyone has any ideas it would really help me out.

 

pull the cover off the ignition trigger see if water in in side if so try a hair dryer - but i think its gone if its wet
