Title out of state bike in CA
Looking at a potential project '77 and a '72 with an OR title. I know it's easier to find a CA bike/title, but if I were to go down this dark path...what ducks exactly do I need to line up? Frame#? Engine#? Road legal lights and sigs? Exhaust? Thanks for any help.

It's a question to ask the CA DMV. I no longer live in CA, but when I bought a bike titled in CA the OR DMV had me talk to CA as that was where the bike was titled. It's like they aren't allowed to talk to each other. I also know there are totally different laws in each state. I'm pretty sure as long as the bike has original equipment for that year you might be ok. Not positive though, hence the phone call.

Bike needs to have at least 7500 miles on it.
Frame and motor need to match.
Think for those years there was only one federal sticker on the downtube of the frame. They (DMV) will want to see that as well.
Depending on the DMV, they will/will not look at/check the lights/turn signals.
Never had an inspector check exhaust set up.
