Default Oil Questions for a newbie

Hey guys I just sighned up tonight, I introduced myself in the general area but I will be hangin in here for the most part. I put this project together and am now getting ready to fire her up, First question... With this aftermarket oil tank From what I read I now do not have an oil filter due to it was in the original oil resivor cap? Is this right? Next Question does any one got a diagram of the proper plug to drain the oil from the crank case. I have a clymer but I can't find a good diagram of what plug&nbsp\\;drains&nbsp\\;what. I just don't want to drain something dry and not know it. If you can help It would be much appreciated, This is my first old one so I have some learning to do. Thanks guys.

You won't have an oil filter in that aftermarket horshoe tank.
There is no drain plug in the cases for engine oil.
There are plugs in the cases, but DO NOT remove them from the engine area.

Thanks for the help. That is nuts.... I have a 2001 wide glide but it&nbsp\\;has pretty much been a get on it and ride it bike. I try to always do my own work, So I really do thank you for the help. I guess I will just change the tank and I was also wondering should I prime the oil pump? I have had this bike torn down for a year or better? Thanks again.

You could keep the tank you have and install a remote filter. You don't have to prime the oil pump because when you fill the tank, gravity will let the oil flow down to the pump. With the geroter design of the pump it will pressurize fast.

Bike looks great, Congrats. You might want to buy a Harley Davidson manual, im pretty new here as well, and everyone told me that I should get that manual over all others, it has already more than paid for itself. You can pick up a copy on ebay for around 25-35$ Good luck, these bike are a blast.
