Default Rocker Box Question?

I've been slowly searching CL and other venues for an Ironhead project.
Obviously, most of the bikes I see (at least the ones in the range of what I want to spend) have gone through a lot of transformations.

One thing I've been noticing is that some of the older bikes ('71 and older) have the notched rocker boxes. I thought that up until '71 they were the smooth radius (shovel) type. Am I right on this?

The rocker covers are interchangeable, so some of the older ones [57 to 70] may have had the "Texas Notch" rocker covers installed later on. A 60s IronHead should have the original style ones to be correct.
