Fast idle speed when the engine is cold
I have had my new M8 for about 2 weeks now. Every morning when I start it up it goes to "Fast Idle" like it is supposed to do. The problem is it revs up to 2300 rpms for about 6 seconds and then steps down to about 1200 rpm until it warms up and then drops down to 900-1000 rpm.
So, my question is what are the rest of you seeing on a cold start up?
2300 rpm on a cold engine just seems like way too much to me.

My 16 RG would jump to 2300 for just a few seconds, talked to the dealer they said it's ok. My 17 RG jumps to just about 2000 when it's cold? I think with a power vision that can be changed ( I might be wrong ). I'm going to have them do something about it when spring hits, I would prefer it not rev this high when cold. Somebody in this forum will have a cure.

My Road King runs up around 2 grand for a count of 3 or 4, then drops to around 1,200..Once fully warmed ( maybe a minute if its sitting) , 850 ( I have not had the 1,000 mile service yet for any software updates to be downloaded).

I just bought a 2018 Anniversary Heritage with the 114, it still has .7 miles on it because I am snowbound right now.
But I have let it idle long enough to get to full operating temperature today and it was +30 deg F.
It started at 2000 for a couple seconds, then dropped down to 1200, but it never went below 1200, except for momentary fluctuations that went from 1050 to 1250.
I am wondering if this is just a break-in period setting ???
