Default M8 exhausts

Just got a 17 Road glide. Looking at getting slip ons at first then headers later. Any suggestions on exhausts? Was at the dealer today and they were saying lot of guys have been extremely disappointed in the vance and hines and M8 motor in general when upgrading the exhausts saying the new motor is great but the sound quality has been killed even with aftermarket.....

Im a Bassani fan and had a megapower 2-1 full exhaust on my 10' SG....Loved it! Looking for any suggestions I like the more deep and throaty sound.

I'm going with Cobra NH 4.0" slipons for my 17 RGS. Best bang for the buck at only $340 compared to others out there that are way overpriced. They have a deep throaty sound, & you don't hear that "raspy tinny" noise like some others have. Even with stock head pipe they sound damn good. I had V&H Power duals & 4.5" HO slipons on my 15 SGS. They were fantastic, but due to warranty issues with the 17's, I'll keep the head pipe stock until my 2yrs is up. Harley has become very "****" on warranty issues when you eliminate the cats. I was told removing the headpipe voids out your warranty. (this comes from HD corporate not the dealer from what my local HD service guy told me. No sense chancing it.

Interesting....Ill have to check into that more. Dealer I got my bike from failed to hint or mention that today. I was just going to do the stage 1 at first and go from there....I've watched tons of videos and can't decide. Those cobras seem to be getting more popular on youtube and seemed to have one of the higher dyno tests in performance.

Plenty of vids on youtube. IMO the Cobra and Forsch slip-ons sound the best.

I installed the Stage III kit, went with the Vance and Hines High Outputs on my FLHTK. Currently running stock head pipes they have a nice deep thump and are stereo friendly below 85

Thunderheaders. I've got them and they sound awsome. Good performance too. 2 into 1 should be out in a couple of months.
