New trans and case .. clutch is fine as they see it, parts in next week.. picked the bike up Thursday, tore it down, seen Friday by me, sent pics to HD and said replace w new.. I'm not complaining. Good job Classic HD Reading PA.

Did you have any inclination that something was a miss before it failed? Noise, whine, clunk? Anything?
Reason I ask, to me it seems my tranny makes a fair amount of noises I have never heard before on a Harley? I'm not even at 500 miles yet. Could be mind gremlins ya know.
I have even thought about pulling the derby cover to check fluid level.
Its not as if I dont trust a dealer to do a proper set up. Um yes it is that it is exactly that.

OK gonna flex my stupidity here.
In checking the tranny fluid level. ambient temp on the jiffy--ok got that
then it says "install filler plug/dipstick until O ring contacts case" well on this one
you have to screw it in pretty far for the O-ring to touch.
I am doing this right? Right?
