That's right, taking a 30 mile trip to the deal to have the front end chromed out but I only made it 1/2 way there.
I was on a divided road with 55 mph speed limit and was varying the RPM's.
Got down to 50 in 5th ( no lugging involved)and downshifted to 4th and hit the throttle and anticipated the torque. Much to my surprise there was none, just the opposite.
It felt like the engine stalled, but it did not. The engine light came on and the
the bike went into limp mode, hazards came on. I felt like I was riding a 900 lb vespa with no *****. Weird feeling as I limped along the side of the road. With a small hill ahead of me I decided the limp mode would not be enough to get me to the other side.
It was 45mins till the dealer closed but they scrambled and got a trailer out to me. I'll report back when they look at the bike in the AM.

What Model & Engine M8? Guessing 107 since you were getting the frontend chromed out.
I put 102 miles on mine today for a grand total of 232 miles...

 

glad it didn't cause an accident..some teenager texting behind you not noticing the change or something..it'll be fixed and good as new and commence with the break in!

 

That sucks big time but the MoCo has shown that they are quick to investigate and resolve any issues with the M8. Keep us posted.

 

just a quick question. why on earth would you down shift from 5th gear at 55 mph? even 6th gear has a large amount of torque available at that speed.
