Had progressive through USAA for years. No life changes that would affect my rates (tickets, accidents, debt, marrital status, etc.). Exact same coverages from progressive on my renewal was $548, geico exact same coverages, except added towing for $12 was $304. Good bye progressive!

I had progressive for 11 years cars and bikes. They jacked me up higher than a rider I know that has a DUI. No reason given but they did email me I was a valued customer.
Dropped them on the bikes and next day switched the cars also. Save a fair amount on both.

Default Switching to Dairyland

I have Allstate now and the coverage is great. I have had a couple claims and they are very quick to take care of everything. Recently I laid my bike down and was conversing with another biker who had just damaged his bike as well. I was telling him about the "good rates" i had through Allstate. He said his rates were half what mine was through a company called Dairyland. I had never heard of them.

I called them up and sure enough the rates were half. Apparently, until just a few years ago when Progressive took over HD insurance, it was Dairyland who was connected with HD. They are located in Wisconsin and specialize in motorcycle insurance. As soon as I am done with all my outstanding Allstate claims, I will be switching. Very nice and personable over the phone, and according to the other biker, very quick on the claims processing.

At one time I had Geico for a 99 FatBoy.
The price was reasonable at $38 a month for full coverage.
About a year later I got a wild hair and bought a 2015 Kawasaki ZX14R just for a change.. I called Progressive and ask what the cost was for the new bile and was told $458 a month.. I politely ask if this was actually per year and was told, No, it is per month..

So, I called my local Farm Bureau agent and was told $39 a month. Needless to say I no longer deal with Geico
