I purchased a k&n 3910 and am having problems with it slobbering oil. I have a 2009 Ultra Classic with a stock 96inch motor. The oil is leaking around the breather head bolts and down off the bottom of the air filter element. I called K&N about this and they said it's normal for it to leak like that, which I find that surprising. Why would someone want oil all over the side of their bike and girlfriend on a long cruise? My question is has anyone come up with a solution to this problem, and if so how does one fix the problem? I would seriously think about buying one of these kits.

I find that hard to believe. I have put this on several bike myself. you sure you have the washer part K from parts list installed? And for K & N to say it is normal is strange.

I must correct myself I purchased the K&N 3930 kit. the problem is there is no passageway for the breaher bolts to transfer crankcase vapors into the intake of the airbox of the fuel injection system. This kit does not come with breather bolt extensions, and the filter element is not designed to allow the breather passageways to transfer the vapors and oil mist into the intake. I have looked at the K&N website and tried to find a photo of the backplate side of the airfilter element for all of you to see why it doesn't work, but they do not have that side of the element photgraphed. Next time I have to take my airfilter apart to clean all of the oil from it I will post pics to illustrate the problem.
