New guy from Georgia
I was turned onto this forum from member "Sick Saddles" as I was looking for a decent seat for my newly acquired Dyna Wide Glide.
I've had one HD or another since 1977. Bought a new superglide that year. That progressed onto a new Heritage Softail in '89. Then a Road King in '95. Picked up a '98 STD dresser after that. Build a rigid shovel that turned into an evo & a RE Mutant Buell. Then pick up a slightly used '96 FXST Softail which I still have today. Recently sold a '98 Road King police which funded the pick up of a gently used 1997 Dyna Wide Glide with ... 3625 miles!!! Yes under 4K original miles & it shows. Bought from an old duffer that was probably caught up in the Harley wave that sooooo many people did back in the '90's. Color is plum but I'm secure in my manhood so I've got no issues riding a purple bike. Love that it's an evo/carb.
Plans for the dyna include removing all the "live to ride ... ride to eat" BS Harley bolt-ons. Bars & risers, exhaust (I make my own), slam the *** end into the weeds & solo seat from Sick Saddles. Trying to pick up a set of FXRP bags so I can modify as I did for my softail.
Oh ... and run the wheels off it. (FYI: I put 103K miles on my '89 softy).
