Howdy from SC/ insta-trike mess
Upstate near the "Deliverance" extras stompin' grounds. New here but been riding close to 50 years. 1996 Heritage Softail is what's in my shed, lost interest 3+ years ago, but after a carb cleaning and new battery, i'm all fired up. Living here like Snuffy Smith, and being from FL, I bought a insta-trike kit and in the process of install. Instructions are so bad, both softail and older versions of Towpac manual make no sense. Newer models tells you to bolt outrigger on muffler 3/8" braces...yeah, muffler braces on both sides of the bike, what 4 banger HD are they using? My bike has the exhaust on the right like everyone else. Nothing on the left side. Older models manual is worse, " bolt the left side outrigger attachment to the "footpeg" mount. I have floorboards, bolt too big, and bolt the right side to the exhaust brace. Must be crooked for mountain roads i guess. Rant over and glad to be here.
