New to me 03 Electra Glide
I have been reading the forums for a couple of months as I have been considering what bike to buy. I have finally bought one and wanted to introduce myself.
I have had my motorcycle license for 27 years but for the last 20 I have been on dirt not the road. Finally decided to get back on the street ( really finally got wife calm down enough to live with it ) and made the purchase in August.
I bought an 03 Electra Glide Standard EFI with 30k. I confirmed that the cam tensioners were changer, got new tires with the deal, it had a stage 1 kit with a nice sounding muffler, an upgraded stereo, highway pegs and heated Harley grips.
Since I bought it I put a 7 in wind splitter smoke tint windshield, a Mustang Tripper fastback seat, added black airflow derby and timer cover, skull gas cap cover and removed the tour pack.
I have put 1700 miles on it and am thrilled with it. I considered alot of different bikes, some not Harleys, and I could not be happier with the choice I made. The handling is great the power is fine ( can always use more but it does what I need it to ) I like the protection of the fairing and the tunes when I drive. The muffler sounds great and the smile on my face as I cruise around is huge.
It had been a long time since I rode so I did rent a couple times over the summer to get the feel for it. It came back quick and it is great to be back on a bike.
I am now looking at new handlebars as the seat moved me back a couple inches and I want a better reach. Also need new highway pegs for the same reason. I think I am going to black it out some so looking at black horn cover, black air filter cover, black mirrors and black levers. The handle bars will also be black, considering the 10 in LA Choppers black bars. Probably will need new cables so need to find time for that.
