Welcome!! I live just around the corner from you sort of (Stansbury Park, Tooele area). I remember my '86 Sportster would 'drop down' very easily on the corners. If I got a little sloppy with my position on the bike, it would want to take the corner sharper than I was intending.

New tires may help, but as I'm sure you know, every bike has it's own personality and character. Even the same brand/model will feel different from one bike to the next. Give it a month or so and you should get the feel for it.
