First Harley, First Bike

Title says it all...Why not buy a Harley Davidson for my first bike....Was looking for Sportster to start, preferably a 1200 but found a really, really good deal on this one from a dealer....Being new to motorcycles the inspection and work done prior to me buying was worth a little peace of mind...16k miles, new tires.

Located in Triad, NC area.

Looking forward to learning, riding, meeting others in what appears to be a great fraternity of riders and HD owners....I have enjoyed reading the forums the last few weeks.

FWIW, a Sporty with apes is arguably not the best first bike for someone-just my $0.02, having made that mistake already with my bride-to-be at the time. Maybe a smaller, metric "beater" bike for the first 6 months or so might be more appropriate.

Just don't let the dealer blow any smoke up your @$$.
