Question help with oil change, find drain? 98Road Glide

98 Road Glide, I pulled what appears to be the only drain plug on bottom of motor and maybe a quart came out.
The dip stick says still oil in bike but needs a little... dont understand.

Must be another way to drain oil obviously but need to complete now.
Any mechanics out there?

I am not sure about the Road Glide, but on the sportster motors, if you pull what looks like the motor drain plug, you just drained the transmission case of oil, which you have to refill because the engine oil and tranny are not the same bath. The engine oil drain is a rubber hose that is clamped to a dead plate torwards the rear of the motor by the starter. I am not sure if the same technology applies to the big twins though. I have not had the pleasure of changing the oil on my Deuce yet. It is to low for a drain pan and I don't have a lift so I just take her in for the service.

Welcome from New Mexico. Look in the tech section. Lots of detail there.

Welcome from Tucson, AZ. An owners or repair manual would probably help.

Was another plug facing front, hard to find. She's clean now.
