There's the common sense about the whole discussion. IMO the electrical system (both cages and motorcycles) shouldn't be designed to be a bandaid for those people who do not drive/ride responsibly. If that thought process continues pretty soon there will be sensors that automatically force the lights to low beam whenever it thinks another car/bike is too close.
Along with others, I think the LED headlight beam is too narrow in the vertical plane to be safe when taking curves and corners on rural roads. This is especially noticeable when the high beam is on. For that reason, I always run with the auxiliary/passing lamps on and rarely even use the high beam. When I do use the high beam I am sure glad to have the added light from the auxiliary/passing lamps for those curves/corners.
