Default That darn FOB!

I was heading out to meet some buddies for a nice long ride last weekend. Threw on my jacket, backed the scooter out of the garage, cranked her up, & off I went. Ten miles down the road I stopped to fill'er up. When I went to crank her back up I turned the switch, hit the button... nothing happened. The all of a sudden the lights start flashing & the alarm starts screaming like a banshee. Everybody's staring. I'm patting all my pockets looking for that darn FOB. I'm embarrassed... hoping a cop doesn't pull in! Then it dawns on me... I wore my other jacket on my last ride! That darn FOB is in the other jacket hanging in my garage!!!! So I had to leave my bike at the pump... Beg the old Mexican guy laughing at me to give me a ride to the house. I paid for his fill-up & he took me to get the darn FOB!! Lesson learned... The security system only works as a deterrent if the darn FOB is nowhere nearby, and once started it will run as long as you (or the thief) doesn't turn off the ignition. Who knew?

That was a Bad Day at Black Rock for you. May I suggest you program the code to disarm for when you do not have your FOB.

Bummer, that really sucks.

I keep an extra house key (Dead Bolt) on my Fob so that won't happen.

Then you're missing the FOB AND the key to get back in the house to get the FOB. (I'm sure that isn't the case but it sounds like disaster waiting to happen)

I Keep the FOB in the house that way the bike won't start. If mine is 3-5' away it won't start. So have not forgot it yet. That sounds like a day of suck. Glad someone helped you.

Yep, lock front door. Put house key/FOB in pocket. Start bike. Ride off.

I have had the FOB battery go dead miles from home though.

Extra Dead Bolt Key hidden in an appropriate hiding place though

Been so long since I had to use it, I better check and make sure it's still there

Do you have to enter the security core every time you start the bike?
