Default Adding King Tour Pak (with lights) to a Special

Today I drilled my Tour Pak to accept the OEM led light bar. I was worried I would screw up using a template so I spent a little extra money, got a donor light and made a template out of it. I closed up all the holes that were not to be drilled and marked all of the holes to be drilled with some paint....didn't want to take any chances of drilling in the wrong place

The template enabled me to clamp the light bezel in place, drill my holes and mount the new light in short order.

I stopped to take a pic before finishing the big hole for the light connection as I didn't want to forget to show a pic of the holes

And here it is mounted.

Next will be wiring it up.

One thing I am unsure on is the CB antenna and why Harley didn't bring the full coax to the antenna base like they do on the AMFM antenna. The same antenna base will work on the CB side and it could still be grounded to the metal plate in the base of the tour pak like the AMFM antenna setup.

Anyone know?

Yep, just like stock, the lights and antenna cables will disconnect right below the backrest and the tour pak can be popped right off.

Additionally, the cables will be coiled under the seat and the fender mounted antennas will plug in.

The wife and I ride around town quite a bit and don't need the tour pak but when we take longer rides it goes on.

I just bought a TP off a 2010 Ultra, do our bikes have the plug on the MC side already there? (Just did a thread asking this,, right before I saw this thread)
Here is my purchase, 600.00! I'm happy with it, (My son will paint it this winter, but black on Amber Whiskey looks ok for now,, especially with the vivid black fairing inner on the front.

Afraid not.

For the lights, I am using NAMZ y adapter PN NTP-CB01. It plugs in under the seat between the main harness and the taillights. Not sure this is compatible with your lights or not.

For antennas I am having to replace the amfm and cb cables that run from the fairing to under the seat with the RGU cables, these will reach to the tour pak.

As for speakers, I'm not using those at this time so I have not looked at a harness yet.

When I am finished everything will plug in under the backrest like factory.

The tour pak is wired up and lights work. Just waiting on the local Harley shop to get the AM/FM cable in and I'll have full functionality. I am also using the Custom Dynamics Magic Strobes and it strobes the light right in sync with the others

I am not sure if I am going to add speaker pods so I ran the harness through the floor of the tour pak. The QD mount makes for a great place to run wire though I will need to get some trim to keep the wire from chaffing on the edge.

Rather simple install really...just need to get the liner to finish it off.

I also want to get a set of the side marker light to get rid of the chrome trim.

This is what you will need if you do decide to install rear speakers:
Fits '14-later FLTRX, FLTRXS, FLHX and FLHXS models equipped with King Tour-Pak
luggage.
76000505 In The Box - Rear speaker pods and wiring harness for speaker hook-up. You will also need to have the dealer flash the radio to turn on the rear speakers.

This is the CVO Tour-Pak liner:
93300049 LINER, MOLDED, W/ POUCH

These are what I used on my 2014 FLHX when I installed a King Tour-Pak on it.

So how much will it cost me to rent your template out? I'm in the same boat and don't have the intestinal fortitude to star drilling yet. The donor light is a great idea

If I do speakers I will not use that kit but rather buy the parts for an ultra as I will add the switches and intercom port so the wife can hear the CB chatter when she wants

I wonder what is the difference between the CVO tour pak and the ultra tour pak. Both have pouches. I have already ordered the liner for the '16 ultra but maybe I should change the order....the CVO is $20 more wonder what that gets you
