Powdercoating frame tear down
Ok guys. I was just going to powder coat a few things but then I decided what the hell im this far why not do the frame.
This is where im at.
Now I just picked up my service manual today. This is as far as I have ever been with a bike. Im curious on which route I should take the motor out. Is it possible to take the whole thing out even with primary on?
Should I just take the whole drivetrain apart piece by piece.
Any tips on that fork stem nut? I felt like I should of lossened it when the bike had more weight. Then again I didn't think I would go this deep.
Thanks for any advice or help.

The outer / inner primary has to be removed.
The transmission is able to be removed in one piece after the primary.
The engine is a 2 man job especially if you like your back. Mine was torn down before hand because I was doing engine work at the same time.
Putting it all back together is going to be the challenging part.

I ended up taking the inner and outer primary off. Slide the tranny out. That engine is pretty heavy. I squatted and bear hugged it. Had someone put a piece of wood down and I set it down. Good thing is im having someone rebuild the motor. Im putting everything back together but the drivetrain. Should be fun. Just don't know what color to powder the frame. Its almost just as hard deciding what color paint as it was to tear down.
Was quoted 240 for the frame. going to do the floor board arms aswell and the triple tree all the same. debating on the handlebars. Engine/drivetrain will be blacked out, also the wheels.

I just did a frame and about 20 other smaller pieces on a Brit bike restoration $285 in gloss black..
There is a color out that is more like an "Ink Black" I want to try, it has a pearl base and a slightly flat appearance but the Classic Brit is not the place..
All the stickers on the frame are toast so you may want to find new ones?
I would go through your parts pile and pull anything you would paint black too..
