Default Fool proof clutch adjustment or not?

2012 ultra with 103. Newer SE clutch installed a few months ago and was not liking the release point and it was dragging a bit. Put her up on the lift and pulled the derby cover. Four tries per the book to get the clutch adjusted and it would not fully disengage in gear with the clutch pulled in. So I left the cable adjustment at 1/8 and kept turning the set screw IN on the clutch and retightened nut until it disengaged. At this point I was IN on the pushrod. I then was able to loosen the clutch lever and control engagement and disengagement at my MIP joints (Middle interphalangeal joints) where I prefer. No slipping no dragging. I did check it a few weeks later and found that the set screw was actually 1/2 turn out from the pushrod. Not sure what/if something was hanging up but shifting into neutral is awesome.

That's good info. Tells me I am justified when following the procedure in the manual and adjust the screw out only 1/2 turn.

1/2 turn is a good starting point.

Go by what the manual says. Works every time regardless of what some NEWB thinks!
