Well guys have a conundrum, whining in primary but only in neutral and first, sounds like a turbo winding up.Clutch is fine, neutral easy to find and no clattering or slipping. After reading as much as I can about the self adjuster it has me a little worried,It's a 2013 roadking cop bike I just bought and as usual the dealer said it's normal but been riding Harleys since 66 and only time they ever whined the primary was to tight. This sound right? Is there a way to slack the primary off a tad? Thanks

You can reset the tensioner but it may happen again. If you want to ease your mind we have this:

I'd use the Baker unit if didn't have to remove the outer primary cover to check it or change chain tension.

You will have to check with your dealer on that, it shouldn't, but every dealer is different. We warranty the tensioner itself for 2 years/20,000 miles. I know it could turn into a fight with the dealer but I would like to see them prove a failure was a result of our tensioner. Talk it over with them see what they say.
