I have a new-to-me 2002 FLHTCUI. While checking fluids for the first time today I noticed I have too much fluid in primary and not enough in transmission.

I'm guessing that's a bad seal on the mainshaft and the tranny fluid is migrating to the primary.

The previous owner was not mechanically inclined so maybe the levels are an error on his part and not a leaking seal. Here's hoping...

 

I may have jumped to an invalid conclusion. While the transmission was VERY low, the primary doesn't appear to be high. I've topped up the tranny and I'll monitor closely.
