Default Too much play in drive components

Could use a little help. I have excessive play in my drive. The tranny turns and primary chain moves about inch and a half before it actually engages the clutch. It snaps when riding. The primary chain is tight and so is belt. I witnessed the slack through the inspection cover o primary cover. This is 2006 batboy.
Any suggestions?? Iam tearing apart primary cover tonight to get a better look see.
Thanks for all help.

Have you checked the compensator?

Default Compensator ok

Yes that is ok. After a better inspection. I found the slack is one inch fore and aft. Meaning the sprockets are turning but the transmission does not engage.
Is there anything in the transmission that can be adjusted to take out the slack? I checked my FLH and it has the same play. The fatboy slaps when it slacks and you crack you the throttle. It just seems like there is just too much slack in the tranny before it catches and engages. Any help or advice would be awesome. Thanks

That is the clearance in the shift dogs on the shafts, no adjustment.
