I have a 07 FXDB 11,000+ miles and lately I've been having trouble downshifting out of 6th gear and into 1st. It seems to do it in the afternoon after riding it most of the day. I have to "stomp" or "bounce" the shifter peg to get it to downshift. Then it is fine till you get to downshift from 2nd to 1st, same thing happens. Anyone know why this is and what can be done about it?

 

Sounds like either a bent fork or fork rod. You can also pull your side cover and make sure that both snap rings are still holding the bearings in place. If the bearings are allowed to walk out you will also have shifting problems. After that take the tranny out, take it to the scrap hard and then give me a call. 517-339-3835
