Question Primary oil change

Hey guys, New rider, I just change my Primary oil for the first time what is the best way to measure the right amount going back in. Book calls for 38 oz i put 32 in and i believe if i would have tried to put more in it would have run out on the ground. LOL It seems to shift much better but it is hard to find neutral. Help. Bike is 2008 Street Glide with 5400 miles.

I usually just use the quart as my unit of measure since my bike only need a quart in the primary. I don't think it's of the utmost importance to get it exactly right.
Pour in a quart, then fill the quart up so it's 1/4 full then pour that in. Done deal.

The best way to measure the correct amount to put into the primary is to just simply add the lube until it is at the correct level.

With the bike sitting upright, the primary lube level should just come to the outside diameter of the clutch assembly. This level is the same for all isolated primary wet clutches, any year, any model.

Pour in the lube until it is at the correct level, now you will know exactly how much the primary in your bike takes.

Make sure your bike is upright. It helps.
