30-tooth transmission pulley on 5-speed bagger
I keep seeing posts on guys running the 30-tooth Tri-Glide on the 6-speeds.
I'm ordering a new pulley tomorrow, and I'm still on the fence regarding the size I want. I'm debating between the 29-tooth and the 30-tooth offerings from Andrews Performance.
I have a 1999 Road King w/ the 95" kit, .203 cams, fully worked heads and Samson slip-ons. I also have a BDL 3" open belt primary drive. Since installing the BDL my RPMs are way low at highway speeds...so I know the increased revs from the smaller pulley will put me about where I need to be when cruising. My concern is going 'too small'...I think I will get a nice increase 'off the line' with the 30-tooth, and even better with the 29-tooth - but I don't want to go too crazy and have to worry about popping belts.
Any feedback?

It would help if you know the tooth count on front and clutch pulleys of your primary, or the drive ratio, then we can give a considered answer. Going from a 32T to 29T is only 10% change, so at 2,000rpm before you would be running at 2,200rpm after. However knowing those primary numbers will help more.
