Default lighten diaphragm spring

Can you back out the shoulder bolts on the pressure plate a turn or 2 to lighten the lever pull?

Not a good idea. Better to install one of the modified clutch ramp kits to lighten the lever pull.

That doesn't change djl's advice! You don't mention what bike and year. The devices djl mentions offer an economical solution, but an alternative is the AMP Research EZ-Pull Clutch Assist.

Depending on model year there are also 'variable clutch pressure' kits that increase clutch pressure as speed increases and use a lighter clutch spring.

Don`t back those bolts off, they are not an adjustment feature on this type clutch.

You have an hydraulic and it's still hard to pull, what size bore master cylinder?

I have 11/16 bore master with your actuator cover. I was very disappointed with the end result. The lever is actually a bit harder than the cable! BDL has been of little assistance. The diaphragm spring is the lightest one BDL makes...no other spring will fit, apparently it is a proprietary setup. I asked about a coil spring and pressure plate setup but they did not know how much lighter the pull would be. I am trying to find an alternative to pulling the BDL lockup out and going with a Barnett or Rivera.

That is what the BDL clutch was purchased for...light lever pull with increasing spring pressure as torque advances. There is no ramp on a hyd actuator , it is fluid and piston action. Thanks for the reply..of little value.

Try a 5/8" or 9/16" master cylinder, it may or may not give enough rod travel however. Or........wait for it...........A LIGHTER SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!

Apparently you did not read the post...it is the lightest spring they offer....your humor escapes me. But it is what it is... will thank you nonetheless.
