Default Is the clutch a problem or just adjusting.

My Bike 1991 Fat Boy
On my way back from Sturgis I stopped at a fuel stop for fuel and after getting it full I went to pull away from the pumps. It was then that I noticed that with the clutch pulled all the way back when I went to start it in gear you could feel that the bike wanted to surge forward a little, It has never did this before and it is still doing it now.
I have the shop manual and did try there way of adjusting it but it didn't seam to make any difference. Maybe I need to try the adjustments again It is very hard to know just how much tension to put on the adjusting screw before you back it out. Any ideas.??

I have a 1990 Glide, owned from new. The adjustment of the clutch is quite critical and while I do it by the book, at the clutch itself, I take out most of the slack in the cable. Try that, to see if it improves things. I don't start my bike in gear, unless I stall in traffic!

Guy,

Mine was doing that too and it is brand new. I adjusted my clutch at my 1k service and it helped. I don't want to start a war here, but what type of fluid are you running in the Primary?
