Laughlin and beyond!
The XL1200T is loaded and ready to start in the AM for Laughlin River Run. The 3,600 mile round trip should identify whether or not the bike is a capable touring machine or not.
Too dark before I finished setting it up. Will post a shot at the first stop over tomorrow.
Mid May is a trip to Cali. Mid June is a run to the Northwest Territories.
Milwaukee, J&P open house, Auburn In. and North Carolina are on the plan after that.
So many places so little time. Gotta get that bucket list done!

I kid...I kid ! Better hurry up and post some pics!
I think you will be fine touring as long as you have some comforts set up like seats, pegs in the right position, etc.
I am jealous of all the trips you are taking though!! Wish I had the means and time to do all that! Good on ya brother!

Made the 3,380 mile round trip in 6 days on my mini Road King(aka XL1200T).
Every day throughout the desert SW was cold, wet and winds ranging from strong to brutal.
This was my seventh year. Not near as many riders there as previous years. It seems like fewer each year. Decided to leave at about 2 PM Sat. Good idea as by 4 pm there was heavy rain causing minor flooding according to my son who was going to stay the day.
I was 6'3" 200 lbs when I started out the ride. When I got home I was 6'2" and 195 lbs. That ride of 647 miles per day in cold, wet and windy days wore this 74 year old rider out. The good part is that I fit the Sporty better at the end.
The worn out dirty 1200T at the end.
