Default British Columbia and Alberta roads and sites

This years road trip is through BC and Alberta. Any advice, comments or suggestions will be very much appreciated.
Leaving Ontario July 5 or 6, I will be iron butting to Lethbridge, AB through Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan on the Trans Can. Doing the same on the way home leaving from Edmonton.
Riding solo and tenting it most of the way I'm expecting to be on the road 3-4 weeks.
Here is my route from Lethbridge with a list of places I want to see or stay in AB and BC.
I like good short scenic hikes and of course the best scenic roads.
Again any advice, comments or suggestions will be very much appreciated.
Thanks

You've covered most of the highlights in BC. If you're not hung up on Hwy 5 I would head back up Hwy 1 from Hope to Lytton and then continue thru Cache Creek to Kamloops.
Hwy 5 is a 4 lane expressway and not as scenic imho. If you do take #5, try 5A from Merritt to Kamloops. Much nicer road scenery wise.
You might also consider a Vancouver Island trip to Campbell River from Parksville/Qualicum on Hwy 19A (seaside route) and then return on 19 (4 lane). Great ride. But Im biased cause I live there.
If youre near lunch or dinner in Nanaimo try the Crow and Gate Pub. Great food and it's the kind of pub you could take your mama to after church.

Check out ride from Balfour (crawford bay) north to Kaslo, new denver, nakusp. Fauquier. Monashee pass to Vernon, then either north to Kamloops or south to osoyoos. This route will give you the best riding in b.c. Stay off the trans canada wherever possible unless you are just making time.

Thanks, the trip from the island up #5 to Kamloops is to meet up with family where I will be spending a few days. I will have already traveled along Hwy1 and leaving Victoria in the morning I want to be in Kamloops before dinner so time is a bit of an issue there. Depending on what kind of time I make, I may use 5A.
I did consider the ride to Port Hardy taking the Prince Rupert Ferry but it was too much $$$ for a single day cruise. They say that Nanaimo to Port Hardy is a beautiful ride, I just don't have the time for the return trip.
While in Nanaimo I will try the Crow and Gate Pub.

Thanks for the input

Thanks. Depending on what kind of time I make getting out there, that'll be a possibility.

PS. I almost forget. The Crow is a great pub but on Sundays they have farmers market on the site. Guess where everyone goes for lunch. It could be crowded on that day

Hey skeetz, looks like you have a full agenda and plenty to see on your travels. We live just east of Jasper Park, and you can stop in and spend the night when you are in the area. I have thrown this invite out to others on the forum, mostly members heading to Alaska they go right past our door. PM me if you think you may want to stop. Have to see if the timeline works with us being home and your travels. At any rate have an enjoyable ride.
