I'd recommend Dragos in Metairie. The char grilled oysters are a must.

Have one for me. Love French Quarter, but, will be hot and oppressive.

We rode over to a music festival in North Alabama last evening. The heat hitting your face at 70 mph was incredible. Its almost like an oven.

Not too bad on the ride back at 10, but the temps were still in the 80's.

Oui, vive L'Acadie...wife and I want to go soon but waiting for cooler temps. Was down there in March in NOLA. For a convention but our trip will be in the bayou.

HOT !!!
90 with 80% humidity this morning. Partly sunny calling for rain Sunday morning.
When you walk outside and your shirt is wet after 5 minutes just standing still its time to reflect why you even came here this time of year .
Good news the road was paved last summer and its still somewhat smooth.
Enjoy..

1) I go in August because I enjoy the low tourist density, heat and humidity don't bother me. I've visited the city somewhere between 35 and 40 times in the last 22 years.
2) Cafe DuMonde for beignet and cafe au lait is how I like to end my evenings.
3) Temperatures were amazing last week, the storm system that stalled out kept the temps way down.

In general this was not one of the better trips. Friday night the wife's club left for orange beach Alabama, 45 minutes after getting on the road her bike began blowing ECM fuses, had to go haul it home and they went on without her. Now it needs to go to the shop, I've got voltage on the opposite side of the fuse where I should have none and can't find any shorts in the harness so it looks like her ECU is fried.

They were only riding a couple of hours she could have caught them the next morning, but she wouldn't take my bike and leave me to drive my truck, a friend offered to loan her his 2014 CVO roadking, she refused that offer, I told her to take my bike and I would borrow the RK, she refused that as well. She said she would just ride with me, so hammock camping on the way down went out the door.

Nice ride the next 2 days, we did indeed pass her club on the road Saturday morning. Sunday I discussed skipping the swamps and having her just take my bike when we got to NOLA Monday, I just buy an RTA pass and don't ride the bike in the city anyway, she could run over to orange beach with her club since they were coming into the city Thursday, that was the plan. Get up Monday AM load the bike plan to hit NOLA by 11 am, go to leave the hotel and shifter feels weird, the shifter has begun stripping AGAIN! (had it replaced 3 months earlier after a trip to phoenix), fortunately Baton Rouge HD was 2 miles down the road threw the bike in 3rd, got it there they got me in and out and back on the road. Now she thinks the trip is jinxed and won't take my bike even after getting to NOLA and telling her I wanted her gone for a few days.

Needless to say I did not get to pick up a couple of hookers and an 8 ball of cocaine to party like Charlie Sheen for a couple of days.
