Default Coeur d'Alene and Canada

Well due to time constraints it looks like we will have to change some of the previous trip plans.

Now we are going to ride from Boise up Hwy 55 to Hwy 95. Following that to Coeur d'Alene. Thinking this will be a better ride than going through Oregon and Washington on slabs. Should be easily doable in a day also.
Looking for advice on travel there and back, and maybe things to do in/around CDA.
Should have a couple of days to go visit Canada also. So, wanting advice for up there. I saw Cranbrook on the map, was curious about there, but looks like it might just be turn around there to head back. Maybe Creston over to Hwy 395 might be better?
Thanks in advance for all the help!

Pend Oreille is beautiful. Spend some time there, and in Sandpoint.

Cant offer any advice, but i am interested in the responses you get. We will be riding through cranbrook on our way from Jasper to Sandpoint but that won't be until the middle of August. We may stay one night in or around cranbrook as well.

On #95, when you hit Grangeville, turn east on #13 and head for Kooskia at the 13/12 jcn. Then head north to Orofino. There's a great motel there called the Konkolville Motel. Reasonably priced and with a pool. The room price also includes a good breakfast. And for about $15 you get a steak dinner. They give you a steak, baked spud and salad. You bbq it on their bbq with all the fixings.

From there head to Clarkia and St Maries on #3. It comes out on I90 just east of Coeur d'Alene. It's a nicer ride than #95 from Lewiston thru Moscow.

There's a motorcycle campground about 10 miles east of Creston BC called Riders Ranch. Good folks.

If you have time the road north from Cranbrook (#95/93) to Radium is fairly straight but the scenery is great. At Radium you can turn east onto 93 and head for Banff and Jasper or stay on 95 and hit Golden. From there head east up the Kickinghorse to Yoho and Lake Louise.

Whatever you do have fun and ride safe.

About a week. 7-9 days since we can probably squeeze out an extra day or 2 with the prior weekend.

Thanks for the advice! Lake looks beautiful. Looks like that could be a day trip from Coeur d'Alene...? Maybe spend the day there on the way north?

First off thanks for all the tips! Steak dinner sounds awesome and the motel looks very biker friendly. Rooms seem pretty inexpensive also.
Hwy 3 does look greener, sounds like a better way to go.
Sounds like a lot of options once we hit Canada. Should we head to Calgary after the lake and others maybe to stop for the night?
