Had a chance to ride Hwy 152 from Caballo Lake to Silver City in New Mexico. What a ride! The weather was beautiful and the traffic was light, which made for a peaceful serene cruise through the Gila National Forest. Actually ran across some deer and some turkeys feeding on the side of the road, really glad they didn't spook.

Normally when I ride, I'm so caught up in the moment that I forget to stop and take a picture, but not today. There were several spots to pull off on the side of the road and snap a couple of pics. Attached are my 2 favorite from today.

a year so I guess I'd better saddle up and renew
my acquaintance..

 

Man that's beautiful...it sure doesn't look like it's only 100 miles from El Paso.

I love the ride, Emory Pass is a sight to see. I made the ride in mid Dec a couple of years back, dang it was cold but a beautiful ride.

 

Great road. A slight detour to Gila Cliff Dwellings via 35 makes it even better. The part of the 35 from the Cliff Dwellings to Silver is as good as the Dragon.
